On November 5th, thirteen men from First Christian Church in Sullivan, IN awoke at 5am to drive to Louisville to build their gazebo. This group of mostly retirees not only broke our previous building record of six hours, but shattered it when they drove the last screw just three and a half hours after starting. With so many people, they were able to split into groups and there were two or three groups of men working at the same time all morning long. The Sullivan Prayer Gazebo is on the Tulip Tree Loop, at the base of the West Kalamazoo bridge. It is truly a beautiful location as the sun shines through the trees. After a good lunch break, the group completed a prayer walk for the missions First Christian supports and then headed home. Just fifteen minutes after they hit the road, it started to pour. The team’s goal was to finish before the rain came and they did! |
